Father, I am ready for another day. May I see and hear what You would have me to see and hear and then say and do what You would have me to say and do. May I be Your ambassador of light to the world today.

So we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us; we [as Christ’s representatives] plead with you on behalf of Christ to be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 AMP

Thinking these thoughts and reading this verse, this should be my heartfelt prayer every day. I wish I could say that this was the case but honestly there are days when, Lord, You don’t have my full attention.

In my youth (oh, so long ago!) I remember thinking, during times when I was diligent about seeing and hearing and saying and doing, “Wow, Lord, look what You have done through me! What would You be able to do if I was this attentive all the time!”

Because the Lord has so generously helped me, those times are more frequent now. But it can be a challenge.

This particular season of writing began early this morning, continued during a break at work and is concluding at home after a full day. Because of that and, I truly believe, because of my prayer this has been a day of diligence. Lord, I have felt You working through me, using me. May the interactions I had with fellow associates and customers and others have a long-lasting impact. May my representation of You ring true in their hearts and minds. May their thoughts not be drawn to me, but to You, Lord. “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) Amen.
