This day will be no less hectic than yesterday, Father, so what better time than now to prepare for tomorrow? Your word is far too vital to miss out on casting it abroad. Bless it to impact those it will. Amen.

Romans 8:35-39 (<<click here to read the passage)

There are many things that only God can bring together and I am a firm believer that there is truly no such thing as coincidence. This is our next passage in Romans and as I read through the next post from February 2017, I wrote, out of the blue, about this exact passage! And though my mind cannot recall the exact circumstances of these writings from six years ago, we find ourselves in the midst of them ourselves once more. God’s word does not change!

*****

Father, this morning my thoughts are full of family and loved ones who are going through transitions with ailing and/or aging loved ones. Once strong and independent and full of life, they now must depend upon others for their well-being. Uncertainty, loneliness, pain, anxiety, fear, and embarrassment are all too familiar terms. Tears are shed, frustrations are high and patience is often thin on all fronts.

In so many ways our hands are tied we can’t just “fix” it. We must tread this pathway of life, Lord, but may we be encouraged knowing that we do not walk it alone. Many are blessed to have family and friends to help along the way. But most important is that You are with us regardless of the circumstances in which we find ourselves.

Lord, help us to not fall into the pit of despair. We may feel overwhelmed by it all crashing down on us but in these difficult times may we not turn from You but may we lean into You – holding on for dear life – for You are life. (John 14:6)

We may struggle…even to the point of death but help us cling to the truth. Lord, may we live in Your word as recorded by Paul in these words,

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. NLT

When all is said and done, we will be with You – not just for a while, but for eternity.

“Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:3-4 NLT

Amen and amen!
